This hike is about 3 miles roundtrip. Let’s get a deeper look at the cranberry lake area by taking a hike to Little Beaver Pond. Our path will be highlighted with a great look at beaver lodges and other signs of beaver engineering. The majority of this hike is generally flat but does include some more challenging rooty sections and moderate hills as we pass to the southwest of Little Cranberry Lake. Meet at the Little Cranberry Lake parking lot. The Big Beaver Pond Loop is listed as Intermediate: suitable for those in fair hiking condition or novices who want a bit of a challenge. Generally 2-4 miles roundtrip with moderate elevation gain. May include some steep sections and some obstacles along the trail that require balance or maneuvering. |

----THIS EVENT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED. THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING. ----- We originally billed this event as "not your normal charity auction!" How right we were (even if we didn't know it at the time!) Artists on the Edge, the in-person auction slate for March 14 (and then May 30, and then June 27...) has been moved ONLINE! Yes, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Fidalgo Island Rotary is jumping into the 20th century with both feet and moving its annual fundraising auction to an ONLINE platform. Wild! Crazy! Necessary! The event starts 8 a.m. May 28 and will run through 8 p.m. May 31. CLICK HERE TO ENTER THE VIRTUAL AUCTION HOUSE! All event proceeds benefit local and international projects by Fidalgo Island Rotary. This year, we are highlighting three specific needs through the "Fund An Item" online function: The local Boys & Girls Club, the Connie Kelley Vocational Scholarship and sending school supplies to children in Honduras. You can learn more and donate to these three initiatives in the first two auction items in the online auction. We hope that you understand our decision during these trying times, and continue to support Fidalog Island Rotary's effort to "do good in the neighborhood" with enthusiasm and excitement! The Fidalgo Island Rotary is one of 34,000 Rotary clubs worldwide. We participate both financially and with work equity in numerous local projects and events (Shipwreck Festival, WhoVille at Washington Park, STEM Camp, and so much more), as well as international projects (we support international medical missions, school support, polio eradication, and more). We award scholarships, we support youth programming, and we financially support local organizations such as the Anacortes Family Center. |
