On June 25, Boy Scout Troop 911 held its first Eagle Scout Court to honor to troop member Andrew O’Donnell. Fidalgo Island Rotary member Kurt Nelson was on hand to present the honor and share what it means to achieve the Eagle Scout award, the highest honor achievable for Scouts. It has been often referred  to as Scouting’s greatest moment. Only one U.S. president attained this rank: Gerald Ford.  President Ford often remarked that it was one of his greatest accomplishments! In the second photo, Andrew’s father ties the Eagle Scout neckerchief on Andrew as the final step of the ceremony held last week.
