The Fidalgo Island Rotary Club of Anacortes is accepting applications for its annual scholarship, the Connie Kelley Memorial Scholarship. Scholarship amounts may vary, but will be at least $1,000 per student.
Applications are being accepted on a rolling basis. The deadline for the annual scholarship is usually the end of April each year, but the club decided to open 2021 applications early this fall due to current need in the community and challenges related to COVID-19.
The Connie Kelley Memorial Scholarship is awarded to current residents of Fidalgo or Guemes islands who plans to begin or continue with vocational or technical education. The scholarship is offered in honor of an outstanding member of Fidalgo Island Rotary, Connie Kelley, who died in 2005. Applicants must demonstrate qualities that epitomized Connie Kelley: curiosity, perseverance, humor, courage, optimism, determination and dedication to community service in pursuing their chosen career and life.
