As a Rotary Club, about 50 percent of our service projects take place right here on Fidalgo Island, in an effort to continually give back to our local community. One of our many projects this year is to serve breakfast and deliver resources for patients at the Didgwalic Wellness Center on March's Point Road in Anacortes. The breakfast will occur quarterly from 6 to 10 a.m., starting on Wednesday, Feb. 26.
Every day, the center, run and supported by the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community, provides integrated medical care and social services for approximately 250 community members facing mental health challenges and substance abuse disorders. Our club's provision of a hot meal, supplies and smiling faces will contribute to their success in treatment.
Funding for this project is being jointly provided by a district grant and the club's community service committee.  Thanks to Moka Joe for providing a generous discount on hot food items, and of course all our club members who are volunteering to serve food and provide support.
